Syedna TUS Sabaq – Water that gives life
07 December 2014
Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin TUS has begun regular sabaq for Mumineen. In Darus Sakina, Mumbai, Saturday on the 7th of Safar, Mumineen took the barakaat of attaining the ‘ilm of Aale Mohammed SA from the Dai and Aalim of Aali Mohammed SA. Below is an excerpt from the first sabaq. The 1.5 hour sabaq was followed by Maghrib/Isha namaz and qadambosi and araz bethak. Photos of the sabaq are presented on Fatemidawat.com.
Syedna TUS began the sabaq with Hamd and recited the ayat from the Quran, which identifies four rivers in Jannat:a river of water than does not become stagnant, a river of milk that does not change in taste, a river of wine that gives joy to those who drink it, and a river of pure honey. Syedna added that this heavenly water is the ‘ilm and knowledge of Aale Muhammad (Surat Muhammad: 15). Syedna explained that this water (ilm) gives eternal life just as water (the one we drink) is the source of all life in this world. The Quran states, ‘from water we have given life to everything’ (Surat al-Anbiya’: 30). This heavenly knowledge was revealed to Adam Nabi AS, as Amirul Mumineen SA said: ‘the knowledge which was revealed to Adam Nabi, the same knowledge with which all the Prophets were favoured; this is the knowledge given to Muhammad and his progeny’ (al-‘ilmul lazi nazala bihi Adam, wa fuddila bihin-nabiyyun, fahuwa fi Mohammadin wa aalihit-Tahereen).
Syedna emphasized humans’ need to be taught by a teacher—to swim, to talk, to count. For example, once taught basic arithmetic (2+2=4), a human can then excel in the field and do complex calculations of millions.
Syedna then introduced Syedna Qadi al-Nu’man – the Chief Justice at the time of Muizz Imam SA and the author of Da’aim ul Islam. Syedna Qadi al-Nu’am, despite his duties, burned the night oil and penned many kitaabs of fiqih (jurisprudence), akhbaar (history) and tawil. Syedna then introduced the kitaab Asaasut-Taweel in which Syedna Qadi al-Nu’man presents the tawil of the accounts of prophets (anbiya’) in the Qur’an. Then, Syedna began bayaan of the tawil of the qissa of Yusuf Nabi AS in the Qur’an.
Mumineen were fortunate to drink this water of knowledge at the hands of Syedna Qutbuddin TUS. Throughout the sabaq Syedna imparted the knowledge he received from Syedna Taher Saifuddin and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA and gave guidance to mumineen.
The next sabaq will be on Saturday 14th of Safar (6th December) at 4PM Inshaallah, followed by namaz and bethak.
The sabaq after that will be on Saturday 28th of Safar (20th December) at 4PM Inshaallah.
