Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS delivered the waaz with great fervor - he explained the taweel significance of the word المدينة, Al-Medina, (the city) in the Qur’an. Syedna TUS referenced Rasulullah’s SA famous hadith: “I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gateway.” He expounded 7 facets of taweel meaning of the beginning verses of Surat Yaseen, including the verse quoted above, in which the Qur’an narrates the story of 3 messengers sent to the city.

Syedna TUS also narrated the various miracles of Rasulullah SA and extolled his lofty virtues and high station. He detailed the challenges Rasulullah SA faced in establishing the religion of Islam, and the efforts and sacrifices of his early companions for Islam. Syedna TUS emphasized the importance of following the sunnat (tradition) of Rasulullah SA, stating that we are the ummat of Rasulullah SA.

Syedna TUS discussed the importance of marriage, encouraging and praying for the marriage of youngsters. He also highlighted the importance of language, counseling parents to take care to teach their children Dawat ni Zaban. He urged parents not to outsource their children’s education, and the importance of inculcating within them the values and ethics of our religion, especially in a world full of diverse and often harmful ideologies.

The waaz concluded with a heart-breaking narration of the shahadat of Ali Akbar AS and Imam Husain SA. Syedna TUS also narrated with great sorrow the shahadat of Rasulullah SA.
