Section E: Sanaa’ – (Praise of Allah Ta’ala)

Every morning before Fajr namaaz, especially in Shehrullah, Sanaa’ is recited in our Masjids. Sanaa’ literally means “praise”, and in this case, it means praise of Allah Ta’ala. The tradition of reciting Sanaa’ traces its origins to Imam Mohammed ul Baqir’s SA statement that, in the last part of every night, and the entirety of Friday eve (Jumo’a ni raat), a firishta announces that he is prepared to forgive sins and grant wishes. Sanaa’ is composed of various praises of Allah Ta’ala from ayats of the Qur’an Majeed, verses of munajaat (supplication to Allah Ta’ala) and qasidas in praise of A’immat (Aalu Taha).
