Syedna Mu'ayyad Doa (al-hamdu lillahi-l lazi bana 'ala-l 'usri wa-l yusr-il umur)
04 April 2023
Syedna al-Mu’ayyad al-Shirazi faced colossal trials and tribulations during his life. This adversity is apparent in his doas, which were compiled as the Ad’iya Mu’ayyadiyya (we read from these doas after zohr/asr namaz in the last ten days of Shehrullah). This week we present one such doa which begins by offering praise to Allah Ta’ala, “who ordained all matters so that they mediate between Difficulty (‘usur) and Relief (yusur).”
The complete doa is presented on fatemidawat.com with English translation by Shz Dr Aziz Bhaisaheb. Presented below is a short excerpt of the translation.

Yet, people are still bound by the chains of its perplexity, and to examine it, minds cannot escape the mask of inability.
I praise and thank Him – my lord. My praise and thanks is the praise and thanks of one whose time of difficulty (‘usur) has so extended, as he waits for the time of ease (yusur). And he knows that Allah Ta’ala will fulfill his command, and for everything He has ordained a measure…”
