Syedna Daud bin Qutubshah’s Testimony in Mughal Emperor Akbar’s Court
02 August 2015
In the beginning of the 10th century, the 27th Dai al-Mutlaq, Syedna Daud, traveled to the Mughal Court in Lahore, and later to Kashmir, to testify following the false claim of Sulayman to the Daiship. We call ourselves Daudi Bohra because we accept Syedna Daud as the rightful Dai, and because we reject the false claim of Sulayman.
We are pleased to present a brief historical account of the Syedna Daud’s appearance in the court of the great Mughal emperor Akbar and the circumstances that led to it. The article is based on the account of events presented in Syedna Taher Saifuddin’s RA Risalat Sharifa of 1371H Ni’am-us-Sibghat-il-Ilahiyyah (pp. 424-455).
