بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّه*
'And whatever ne’mat you have, it is from Allah.'
(Surat al-Nahl: 53)
This article was written by Ra'sul Hududil Mayameen Janab Syedi Aziz Bhaisaheb Qutbuddin in 2015.
The 52nd issue of Sijill was released on the Milad of the 52nd Dai Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA. It is a most happy coincidence that the 53rd issue is released as we celebrate the Milad of the 53rd Dai, our beloved Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin TUS.
The word ne’mah is defined as blessing or bounty. The greatest ne’mat is the recognition of Imam-uz-zaman, and his Dai in his seclusion, as it is this recognition that ensures our najaat. In the Qur’anic ayat, it is this ne’mat of ma’rifat (recognition) that is referred to in the context of the Day of Judgment, “and then you will be questioned about na’eem – about the bounty of walaayat” (Surat al-Takathur: 8). With this meaning of ne’mat in mind (the blessing of having recognition of Saheb-e-zaman), the significance of the ‘alaamat assigned by Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA to Maulana Qutbuddin TUS is very clear. This ‘alaamat was bestowed to be used by Qutbuddin Mola TUS in all his correspondence as a signatory line to be placed at the top of the letterhead, indicating his high station. The ‘alaamat thatwas assigned to Syedna Qutbuddin TUS when he was given hadiyyat and was the verse from the Qur’an quoted above (Surat al-Nahl: 53), “wa ma bikum min ne’matin faminallah ” (And whatever ne’mat you have, it is from Allah.). The significance of the word ne’mat in this ayat is further emphasized by the fact that the ayat is the 53rd ayat in Surat al-Nahl.
The ayat Syedna Taher Saifuddin assigned to Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin for his ‘alaamat was ‘Mohammadun Rasulullah’ (Surat al-Fath: 29), which also clearly indicated the 51st Dai’s vision for Syedna Burhanuddin as a Dai of Rasulullah’s Dawat.
The significance of the ‘alaamat given to Syedna Qutbuddin by Syedna Taher Saifuddin was recognized by many. Shehzada Mohammedul Baqir bhaisaheb Jamaluddin, Syedna Taher Saifuddin’s youngest son, referred to its significance in writing. See Nazaraat section below.
On the auspicious occasion of Syedna Qutbuddin’s TUS Milad, we praise Allah Ta’ala and offer gratitude for the ne’mah of the recognition of the Dai of our age, the naa’ib of our Imam and the noor of Allah Ta’ala, Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin.
The word ‘alaamat means literally a sign. The ‘alaamat, the signature assigned to Syedna Qutbuddin, was and is a very clear sign from Syedna Taher Saifuddin for us today. May Allah Ta’ala keep us in the saya of His ne’mat, Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin. May we be forever grateful for the blessings that are bestowed upon us night and day by him, and may we have the courage and honor to serve in his khidmat throughout our lives. May Allah ta’ala grant Qutbuddin Moula glorious victories in the battles against Dawat’s enemies, and May Allah ta’ala grant Syedna Qutbuddin a long and healthy life.
