To Conquer Fear

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍ
'[Allah Ta’ala] provides them with food against hunger, and with security against fear.'
(Surat Quraysh: 4)
This article was written by Ra'sul Hududil Mayameen Janab Syedi Aziz Bhaisaheb Qutbuddin in 2017.
We commemorated the first Urus, “warsi,” of Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin RA on the 23rd of Jumadal Ukhra 1438H. On the eve of Urus, Syedna Qutbuddin’s successor - Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS - delivered waaz mubarak in which he explained the many meanings of Surat Quraysh (le-ilaafe qurayshin). Syedna did zikr of the sanctified position of Panjetan, A’immat Tahereen and Du’aat Mutlaqeen, especially the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq, Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin.
Explaining of the meanings of the last ayat of Surat Quraysh, Syedna Fakhruddin maintained that Allah Ta’ala “provides food against hunger and security against fear” through His Awliya’. In past times our Awliya’ have provided physical nourishment and safety. For example, Syedna Yusuf Najmuddin looked after talabatul ‘ilm who came to seek knowledge in Syedna’s hazrat so that they may concentrate on their education without concern for basic livelihood. When there was a famine in Saurashtra, Syedna Abdeali Saifuddin RA looked after 12,000 Mumineen in Surat for a full year and thereafter helped them reestablish their business and livelihoods. In Ahmedabad, when Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed RA was taken in captivity he told Mumineen to return to the comfort of their homes, and that his life was sacrifice for the Dawat of Imam-uz-Zaman. However not only do our Awliya’ protect and safeguard us in difficult situations in this world, they also give us the courage to conquer our fears so that we are eternally secure and safe. Imam Husain SA in Karbala gave security and safety to his Ahle-Bayt and Ashaab, and because of this ultimate security and safety they did not fear anything, not even death.
Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin was a waliyy of Allah Ta’ala, a Dai of the Imam. Throughout his life he “provided food against hunger and security against fear.” For many years, wherever Syedna Burhanuddin deputed Syedna Qutbuddin to perform Ashara, Syedna Qutbuddin would host an entire Niyaaz. From many decades, on every occasion, every Urus, every miqaat, every happy occasion in the family, Syedna Qutbuddin would host thaals for Mumineen in a home near Rozat Tahera. After the wafaat of Syedna Burhanuddin RA, Syedna Qutbuddin looked after many families for many months in Darus Sakina. For over half a century Syedna Qutbuddin provided spiritual nourishment for Mumineen in his waaz and sabaqs. After the wafaat of Syedna Burhanuddin, those who followed his true successor – Syedna Qutbuddin – were the ones who were safeguarded from fear. Their faith in Syedna Qutbuddin safeguarded them from all fears – and the ultimate fear of death. Those who followed Syedna Qutbuddin were assured that they are following the 52 Dais, the Imams and Panjetan – that they were following Allah’s Awliya’ – and by that they were assured of salvation.
Syedna Fakhruddin stated these inspired words “those who do not fear are able to give safety from fear” (“je ne khauf na hoi ye khawf si amaan aapi sake”).
Today we follow Syedna Qutbuddin’s successor and we have no fear. We are safe in the sanctuary of Dawat in the cool shade of its protector Syedna Taher Fakhruddin TUS. May Allah Ta’ala grant Syedna Fakhruddin longest life to continue the legacy of Panjetan Paak, Aimmat Tahereen and Du’at Mutlaqeen – especially Syedna Qutbuddin RA – and provide Mumineen with their physical and spiritual nourishment and safeguard them from all fears.
