Our Identity

Imam Ja’farus Sadiq SA as saying, “a mumin is another mumin’s brother – born of the same mother and father. Their father is light (noor) and their mother is mercy (rahmat).” Syedna Hatim explicates this bayaan, “By noor, he meant the Prophet SA, and by mercy, the Wasi SA.

The verse in the Quran, quoted above, states that those Muslim men and women, those Mumin men and women, the devout men and women, those honest men and women, those patient men and women…these men and women have been promised Allah Ta’ala’s reward. We are Mumineen...

Da’wat is the eternal mission of Allah Ta’ala. Da’wat has been there from the day Creation came in to being. Da’wat literally means an invitation or call. In the context of Da’wat ul Haqq, it is the call to Allah Ta’ala, a call to the True faith.

Our community today is defined by its history. We are identified as Dawoodi Bohras because we believe in the line of Dai-s since Syedna Zoeb bin Musa RA.

We are Dawoodi Bohra Muslims who believe in the Oneness and Mercy of Allah. We are Dawoodi Bohras who have in their hearts the walaayat of Panjetan, the Imams and the Du’at. We are Dawoodi Bohras who remember always our beloved 52nd Dai Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA.

When Syedna Qadi al-Nu’man RA came to Mansur Imam’s AS successor, Moiz Imam, Imam Moiz AS spoke the proverbial words: ‘maulaka mada, wa maulaka baqi’ – ‘your maula has passed, and your maula remains’.
