Philosophy of Life

Amirul Mumineen Maulana Ali SA asserts that there are two types of sabar: one type is to endure what troubles you with fortitude; the other type is to wait for what you wish with patience and sabar.

In this is a lesson for us. Even when taking rest or enjoying our outings we must always think, consider and contemplate the greatness of Allah Ta’ala’s creation. Just as our bodies need rest and rejuvenation, our minds need rejuvenation. As Amirul Mumineen SA has said: “Just as bodies tire, minds tire, so seek pearls of wisdom for them.”

They contemplated the candy and thought about it, and it fell into their minds to say: “I wonder who made these marvels and formed these shapes and created these colors?”

The vizier sacrifices himself to save the king and the people of the kingdom because of his belief that his body is a transient vessel, and because of his willingness to sacrifice himself for others.

The Qur’an advises mumineen on how to lead a good life. In the verse quoted above, Nabi Luqmaan advises his son, ya bunayya - “O my [beloved] son! Establish prayer and enjoin decency and forbid indecency. And be patient through whatever may befall you. Truly that is true constancy.”

In a world that is often defined by chaos and uncertainty, we often find ourselves in situations of chaos and uncertainty also. In this chaotic world, those who find clear direction are those who live a life of contentment.

Allah Ta’ala established the Ka‘ba as a place of worship and as a sanctuary. It is focal point of all Muslim prayer. It is the center of the Muslim world.

Syedna Qutbuddin has always advised us that when we are firm in our belief then we should move ahead with full conviction. Truth is the source of our conviction. Once our conviction is strong, then we must forge ahead with tawakkul and trust in Allah.

Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA and Syedna Burhanuddin RA often stated that, “aside from Allah and his waliyy we fear no one.”
